Her Favorite Gift Was My Rug

When my grandmother turned 80 years old, we had a huge party for her at her house. Though she was more than twice as old as most of the guests, she was able to endure the long party better than some others. She is quite active and people are surprised she is 80 years old, as she doesn’t look it or act it. I wanted to get her something really special for this milestone birthday, and I knew just the gift. I had been looking at antique rugs in Melbourne for my own house, and I knew that she would appreciate one of the rugs for her own home.

My dining room is hardwood floor, and it looks really nice but was still missing something. I figured a nice rug would do the trick of making the room look complete. There are stores in the area that sell rugs, but I wanted something unique and interesting. I went online to see if I could find the perfect rug, and I found a store in Melbourne that specializes in all different collections of rugs. I didn’t even know I wanted an antique rug until I looked at what he had available.

There was a tribal rug that just spoke to me, and I knew I had to have it. The rug was in excellent condition, and the craftsmanship that went into making it was second to none. That is why I knew my grandmother would appreciate a rug like that too. I looked at the other rugs that were for sale, and it did not take me long to find a burgundy decorative rug that I knew she would really like. She later told me when we were cleaning up from her party that it is her favorite gift of all the ones she received!
