I Started Learning About TCM

Traditional Chinese Medicine is different than modern Western medicine. The approach is entirely different, and the outcome is often different too. I am not dissing modern medicine at all, because it definitely has a place in today’s world. There are a lot of things wrong with it though, which is why I balance myself by having both in my life. I started practicing TCM in Singapore after seeing the change in a work colleague who tried it. This person was always tired and simply had no energy. He got his work done, but it was obvious that it was taking a toll on his overall health.

He started going to a Traditional Chinese Medicine clinic just a few blocks over from where we work, and the change in him was apparent just in that first week. Now when we look at him, he is filled with energy and can run circles around most people in the office, no matter the task. When I asked him what had happened to cause this change, he explained about Traditional Chinese Medicine. That was all I needed to hear to know I wanted to research this further myself.

I went to the same clinic that he went to. I had the initial examination, and then the differences in the approach were explained to me. I learned that it is better to be proactive than reactive. Too many people wait until there is a problem to go to the doctor. With TCM, you are doing what you can to ensure the problems don’t come in the first place. Granted, it is not always possible to keep certain conditions from happening. However, with TCM, there is the added bonus of treating the root of the problem rather than just the symptoms. That alone means the prognosis is going to be better!
